Saturday Bank Holiday Alert: Will Banks Be Open or Closed Today?

Today, September 27th, is Saturday, the fourth Saturday of the month. According to RBI regulations, all banks across the country are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.

Bank Holiday:Today, September 27th, is Saturday, the fourth Saturday of the month. According to RBI regulations, all banks across the country are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Therefore, all private and public banks will be closed today.

Tomorrow, September 28th, is Sunday, a regular weekly bank holiday. This means that normal branch transactions will not be possible for two days.

State-wise Holidays During Navratri

Banks will also be closed in some states during Navratri. Different days have been designated for different cities:

  • 29 September (Mahasaptami): Bank closed in Agartala, Kolkata and Guwahati.
  • September 30 (Mahashtami / Durga Ashtami): Bank closed in Bhubaneswar, Imphal, Guwahati, Agartala, Kolkata, Jaipur, Patna and Ranchi.
  • 1 October (Mahanavami): Banks will remain closed in almost all cities.

How to do bank work on holiday day

The necessary work can be done online even when the bank is closed. Most transactions from the bank's website or mobile app can be easily completed. Many things can also be done using call service.

ATMs are available to withdraw cash. But for certain special tasks, especially in government bank branches, it may be necessary to go directly to the branch. Therefore, it is always better to check the bank holiday list before going to the bank on Saturday or holiday.
